Project Description

Mark Swanhart (SWANY) is an American film, stage and television creative director, choreographer, producer and writer who’s work can be found across the globe. At the start of Swany’s professional career, he found his very first choreographic job on Baz Luhrmann’s La Boheme on Broadway.

Mark Swanhart began his dance studies at 7 years old in his hometown of Vinco, Pennsylvania and furthered those studies at Point Park College of Pittsburgh. After college, Mark made his professional debut with the James Kelley Choreography project and remained in Chicago to perform with Deeply Rooted Dance Chicago, River North Dance Company, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Mark then turned his focus to theater and joined the first national tour of Fosse.

After choreographing La Boheme, he spent the next year with the show maintaining and then remounting the production in Los Angeles. Since then, Mark has choreographed for music videos, films, and national commercials. His work includes the Grammy award winning music video Mas Y Mas, Office Max’s, Rubberband Man, and the choreography for the water fountains for Steve Wynn’s new casino in Macau, China. Mark has become one of Hollywood’s most innovative choreographers for his versatility in both commercial and concert dance.
